Cultivate your flow - Youth at the heart of life
This year, the Libramont Fair is aimed specifically at young people, who will shape tomorrow’s rural, agricultural, forestry, and entrepreneurial world.
Today’s youth are curious, engaged, aware of environmental challenges, and in search of meaning. They bring a fresh perspective to our relationship with the land, the forest, food, and nature. They want to build more sustainable models and provide innovative answers to the challenges of sustainability, local consumption, circularity, climate, and the multifunctionality of rural areas.
Many young people today seek to balance professional commitment with preserving their private life, at a time when many farms are facing the issue of succession, on which the future of the rural world depends. Take over? Start out? And if so, how, and under what conditions? These questions will be at the heart of discussions and events organized during the Fair, with particular attention paid to the challenges of setting up, access to land, training, entrepreneurial support, and international openness.
The professions of the living world can answer the younger generations’ quest for meaning, and the Libramont Fair wants to be this platform for exchange, encounters, and information where they can find inspiring answers to their legitimate questions, so that they can become the farmers, foresters, entrepreneurs, or researchers of tomorrow.
“Cultive ton flow” (Cultivate your flow), the theme of this 2026 edition, is a message addressed to them, in their language. It means “find your way“, “assert your personality“, “thrive“, allowing them to achieve that balance where personal aspirations, skills, and achievements align perfectly, creating a sense of fulfillment, well-being, usefulness, and positive impact.
We hope it will resonate particularly with the new generations and that this 2026 edition will prove to them that professions in agriculture, forestry, and rural life have meaning and a future. In a nutshell: they have flow!
Concretely at the Fair
The 2026 theme will be reflected at the Fair through several initiatives:
→ The launch of an “Education and Professions Hub” bringing together the full range of training opportunities and career openings in the agriculture, livestock, and forestry sectors, as well as: 1 escape game, a CV and job offer wall…
→ Competitions, demonstrations, participatory workshops, project pitches, inspiring testimonies, and meetings with professionals, organized in partnership with schools and colleges, universities, and several members of our agricultural circle, IFAPME, Wallonie Bois, agricultural organizations, and stakeholders from the forest-wood sector.
→ The launch of the Student App, developed to identify educational pathways based on one’s ambitions, available at the “Education and Professions Hub” created for the occasion in Hall 1 – Stand 16.
→ The launch of Scale Me Up Agro, an initiative designed with Mind & Market (the largest community of project leaders in French-speaking Belgium with 8,000 members and 2,300 projects since 2009) to boost the development of startups in the sustainability, agri-food, and agri-tech sectors.
→ A workshop led by the Black Moutons (the dynamic team behind the French media ‘Sous le Hangar’, 100% dedicated to agriculture) which will take place on Friday 24/07 to train a community of future Belgian agricultural influencers.
→ An invitation extended to exhibitors to develop activities, interactive experiences, challenges, discovery trails, and discussion spaces tailored to young audiences, while giving the floor to their young male and female employees, researchers, apprentices, or entrepreneurs so they can share their experience, passion, and vision of the future.
→ And finally, the Agriculteurs de Valeurs (Farmers of Value) competition becomes “Jeunes Agriculteurs de Valeurs” (Young Farmers of Value) in 2026 (candidates aged 40 max), awarded during the Agricultural Excellence Evening on Saturday 25/07.
