Our vision
At the service of the forest, the Royal Forestry Society of Belgium supports foresters so that they pass on to future generations a healthy and multifunctional forest.
Our missions
The SRFB encourages sustainable forest management through information, training and adapted services such as insurance, certification, or support for reforestation. To achieve this, it relies on an expertise of more than 125 years, an adapted pedagogy and a holistic approach.
At the same time, the SRFB has developed an awareness component aimed at the general public and contributes to various applied research projects.
Directed primarily towards its members (forest owners, managers and forest enthusiasts), its actions aim to promote the sharing of experiences and meetings with the various actors of the forest. They offer foresters a variety of management tools so that they can make their decisions freely.

Forest management training
We essentially offer two types of activities, field days organized in the form of a traveling conference involving external lecturers who are professionals in the sector or specialists in their field and training days organized in the form of an educational circuit most often involving our SRFB trainers.
Your responsibility is very likely to be engaged in the event of a tree or branch falling causing damage to others. This is why the Royal Forestry Society of Belgium has taken out collective civil liability insurance from which its members can benefit, for a much more attractive amount compared to an individual contract. Today, our group insurance “RC Forêt” covers more than 71,000 hectares for the benefit of more than 1,200 of our members.
