Ministerial Conference of Authorities Responsible for Rural Areas in the Greater Region - Signing of the Rural Areas Charter in the Greater Region
As part of the Walloon presidency of the Greater Region Summit, the Libramont Fair will host a ministerial conference on rural issues on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 2pm to 4pm.
This meeting will be marked by the signing of the Charter of Rural Areas of the Greater Region by 10 signatories: the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, the Grand Est region, the prefecture of the Grand Est region, the departments of Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, and Moselle, Wallonia, and the German-speaking Community of Belgium.
This Charter aims to reaffirm the essential role of rural areas in the Greater Region and to strengthen cross-border cooperation in addressing the common challenges faced by these territories, particularly in the fields of agriculture, forestry, generational renewal, the attractiveness of villages, local services, mobility, digital connectivity, local economic development, adaptation to climate change, the prevention of natural hazards, including wildfires, a
