The FFE represents equestrian users at the authorities, all those who ride horses, horse-drawn vehicles or walk with an equine in their hands on the public highway, and not only for equestrian tourism purposes. Since its creation, the FFE has defended their members by keeping access to public roads in general and to slow roads and tracks in particular, and their place in the Highway Code. The FFE supports "orphan" equestrian disciplines such as riding in the forks (amazon), acrobatics (gymnastics on horseback), equestrian archery, jousting, archery, Equidance, etc. and this is how endurance, TREC, etc. developed in Belgium. The FFE is committed to the training of "horse men and women" so that they and their equine partners can evolve in harmony and safely. The FFE does not aim to select elite sportsmen and women, but aims to improve the knowledge of the horse, the donkey and the equestrian cultures in general.

Horse on the road
Equestrian users feel insecure and vulnerable when faced with other road users.
To change this, the FFE (French Federation of Road Traffic Enforcement)
- organizes conferences followed by interactive question and answer sessions,
- offers quizzes on the role of equestrian users in traffic at mobility, sports, and tourism trade shows, etc.
- creates and distributes a card game on equestrian users and the Highway Code,
- disseminates information via the press and social media.
Equirencontre
Every year, the FFE organizes a "gathering" that brings together Belgian and foreign equestrian trekkers and their horses for three days around August 15th. The goal is to travel there on horseback or in a carriage, but you can also come by van.
In 2025, it will be in Ittre, Brabant.
