Description
Since 2019, the two of us have been working together on the farm, raising sheep so that we can offer consumers local, tasty lamb that meets Belgian production standards, ensuring a high-quality product.
Our farm has around 1500 ewes, which lamb in batches of around 300 every two months so that we can deliver to butchers and restaurants all year round. Our animals are reared outdoors for nine months, in summer and winter, and return to the sheepfold one month before lambing to enable us to monitor the mothers and the lambs once they are born. The lambs are left to their mothers the time they need to develop until they are weaned. The farm is self-sufficient feed, which means that we produce all our feed, grass, cereals to provide protein. We also have a number of partnerships with grain growers to graze their cover crops in winter, so that these crops can ecologically destroyed by the sheep.
